The ideal candidate:

We are looking for a womenswear buyer to help us evolve Australian e-commerce and fashion. You will be a highly skilled senior womenswear buyer with extensive experience buying branded fashion within Australia.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for the growth and optimization in the women’s apparel department
  • Managing your own OTB

  • Building solid relationships with key suppliers

  • Product selection; inquiry and evaluation of product for your category

  • Acquiring new local and international brands

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to work across several business areas including Recommendations, Customer Profiling, Forecasting and Optimisation. You will be part of a highly innovative team working on interesting and difficult problems, leveraging cutting edge technology to build solutions and customer facing products. Your work will have a direct impact on shaping the future of how customers shop and will help shape key business decisions and activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong quantitative or technical background with experience working with large datasets and solving tough problems. You will be a highly intelligent self-starter, with a bias towards action and attention to detail.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Analyse large, complex datasets to reveal underlying patterns, correlations and trends

  • Assist with the implementation and scale-up of algorithms for tailored recommendations

  • Investigate performance of current recommendation products and translate insights into specific improvement suggestions / new feature proposals

  • Drive development of machine learning techniques to model customer behaviour and preferences

  • Create prototypes for new personalisation features and turn outputs into operational data products

  • Set up and conduct large-scale experiments to test hypotheses and drive product development

  • Research and leverage new methodologies to improve current products and influence the future roadmap

  • Leverage quantitative techniques to answer ad-hoc business problems

The ideal candidate:

  • Solid previous experience in solving large analytical problems using statistical, predictive analytical models or other quantitative methods
  • Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms like K-NN, Random Forests, Naive Bayes, SVM etc

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or similar quantitative discipline - advanced degrees preferred

  • Comfortable with performing ad-hoc analysis and deriving actionable insights

  • Working with Machine learning algorithms and Implementing those  algorithms on our AWS stack

  • Solid programming skills (e.g. R, Python, etc), and fluency in SQL

  • Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing (Hadoop, Spark, Mahout, NoSQL, Hive, Pig)

  • Experience with data visualizations tools like Tableau, D3.js, ggplot, etc

  • Excellent team working attitude with the ability to work proactively under own initiative in a fast paced environment

  • Commercial mindset and keen interest in E-commerce or the online fashion industry

  • Good understanding of both the commercial and the tech side, which will enable you to proactively identify business use-cases, and to understand and work around tech constraints
